Default noisy soft top

i have a an 06 with 500 miles on it and since i got it i've been hearing this noise from inside coming from the soft top. the noise seems like it's coming from the main hinge point right above my left shoulder. it only happens when i hit a bump or am turning. i did a search on it but can't pinpoint if this is the same noise anyone is talking about. i tried putting my hand on the bar when i drive but it doesn't seem to do anything. the noise is like a creaking hinge but can't pinpoint it. if anyone has a similar problem and knows how to fix it i would really appreciate it.

Scritch, scritch, scritch. I hate that sound. It seems to have gone away on mine but maybe I just tune it out. I think the sound is indeed coming from the pivot joint above and behind your left shoulder. The dealer can lubricate it.

It is seatbelt squeaks on leather. Cut a felt about 2"-2.5" long and lock under the seat belt guide with 1.5"-2" felt between belt and leather.

I have the same noise.

I don't think it is comming from the seat belts, but rather the roof. It is really annoying whenever I have the top up. I have to turn up the radio quite a bit to block out the noise.

lithium spray grease sprayed at the hinges should take care of most noises.

Check the TSB here:
