Ill chime in on this, I own both a 90LX 5.0 and S2K, the only way to make a mustang handle to the best of its ability is simply install a Griggs Suspension even on the newer cars, The Mustang to this date has so many suspension flaws on its front end. The IRS helps but even that is not optimized yet. People whom road race and autox the mustangs know of the Griggs suspension systems. I installed one upon my car and although my S2k is overall a better handling car, my corner entry, speed at the apex and corner exit are faster in my modded Mustang then my S2k. I personally think thats the best youll get with the Cobra is to install the aftermarket Griggs system. I believe Road and Track tested their car a few years ago upon a 95 Cobra, and it ran 1.0 and .96 g's (left and right), so its a pretty damn impressive system


But i feel the big difference between the cars is the lower Cg, less weight and weight distribution of the S2K. And you know i dont see any suspension system being more superior then double a arms in front and the rear. The best Stangs such as the Trans Am cars are even running them. People whom race, will tell you its light weight that allows you to corner faster and makes a car handle better, well there are other things to but its part of the design criteria. If you think about all this, you literally have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the Stang and in the end i came to realize what it takes to make a Stang handle better is a bunch of band aids to overcome design flaws.
