Wow, I read that link about all those Ford problems, and I could not believe Ford dealerships / service advisors coudl be so....stupid. I guess alienating your customers is good business practice.
Anyway, thanks for everyone's input. You've saved me from the american beast.

I also know a guy that has one, and he has never had any trouble with it. He changed the pully, chip and exhaust, and it has serious power. IMO Fords are pretty reliable, unlike GM.

Lost Waffle.
I have a 2003 Cobra and have owned 3 S2000's. The Rustang will never handle like the S2000... the steering is sooooo s-l-o-w in comparision...along with having no real feel to it....
I have my car lowered with Maximum Motorsports Coilovers with caster/camber plates ($1600 installed). I go to the road course about 2 times per year and would probably not ever take the cobra. Just not even remotely comfortable with it's size, etc.. I have owned the cobra longer than my Evolution and I took the evolution to the road course 2 times (even after the cobra was coilover'd), so that says how much fun I think the cobra would be at the track.
I bought my cobra used from a Toyota dealer for $29k with 3400 miles on it. It now has 5300 miles and I have had no troubles at all. It came used with Subframe connectors, exhaust and Bassani X-pipe with cats..... (i was too dumb to even know any of that....sort of like a bonus 1 month later...duh)...
The pedals are awful for heel and toe....you learn to use your heel on the freaking brake and tap the gas with your toe..... the shifter..blaaa........ but.... remember.... it can hit 130mph in about 18 seconds (stock)... much less if modified.
My car had previously been chipped and i ran a 12.4

good luck getting that dinosaur of a chassis to perform like an s2000
Its more than just suspension components that make a car handle like it does. A new cobra will never be anything close to an s2000 when it comes to handling, it simply weighs too much

I think motor trend said something like "The SVT Cobra had the quickest time on the slalom since the Z06 vette" and it pulls .90 g's? Does this car handle better than our s2k???

Z06 ALLLLLL the way. I test drove one a couple of weeks ago, and that IS my next car. I will keep the S2k forever, but once it is paid off, Z06 here I come.
