Hmm... S2000 sluggish around town? What gear are you in!?!? My car's never been sluggish compared to anything around town. How fast do you really need to accelerate with a car in front of you and people using crosswalks? Whatever!
Oh, and they should read the owner's manual about how to stow the spare...

The S2000 is still king of the autocross. If the Z is that good we all should be afraid. Or maybe we all should be glad that those M3 guys will stop bitching at us about the S2K (give them another target). Somehow, I still think that next year the S2000 drivers will still be cussed when showing up at autocross events, while we are laughing at the Z drivers who believed their dealer's hype.
BTW: The S2000 0-60 times are nothing to write home about. But if Nissan is claiming the same or worse, without the other benefits (HONDLING HANDLING HANDLING) then I would still have to go with the S2K.
I think I am gonna go visit my local Nissan dealer and see if I can con him into a test drive, so I can comapre for myself.

I agree with most of the generalized comments about the Z, ride comfort, ease of driving with bigger and flatter torque curve that is available in the lower RPM's. Some of the issues like aluminum suspension components. But the actual numbers do seem to lack some credibility. I have driven the S2000 and though I admit it is a lot of fun, there is no doubt that it is less comfy than the Z.
The other thing is, I believe that they are barking up the wrong tree. I wouldn't consider the S2000 for a number of reasons. It is simply to edgy and requires to much work to get around in. If I wanted a pocket rocket for occasional blasts up to the lake, the S2000 would be an option, for a daily driver that little motorcycle engine would drive me freakin crazy. Track car yes, daily driver, Z all the way.

I agree, it would be much easier to zone out in the Z than the S. That would be great in rushhour traffic...which I avoid by riding my bicycle to work. Not being able to zone out in the S is one of the things I love about it

Thanks Nissan. I had no idea I was uncomfortable driving 12 hours in my car. I guess I just needed someone to open my eyes.
