All dealer systems publish these cheat sheets for sales personnel. Even appliance manufacturers do it.
The scans are a little hard for me to read but can someone please tell me (other than enthusiastic hyperbole) what the actual lies are. I don't see them. In fact, for a lot of buyers who aren't enthusiasts, these are solid selling points for the Z. A lot of buyers who are enthusiasts are going to choose the Z too -- just maybe not for the comfort and convenience they're selling here. You guys aren't arguing that the Z is not competitive in performance or that more torque isn't better are you? Is it the twitchy rear you doubt? Reaching the cruise control or dimmer switch perhaps?
I don't think we should be so up in arms about another cool car coming along. As I've said before, the Z would make a great second car.

I have that same Parker Johnstone video Colin mentions. Parker touts a strength of the S2000 as the top is 1 or 2 seconds faster than the Boxster. The only difference is that when I have to get out and put the boot cover on it adds 2 minutes when the Boxster has the boot cover as part of dropping the top.
EVERY car manufacturer plays up their car. They want THEIR car to be one you can't live without and better than anything else.
Who bought an S2000 and didn't hear a lot of mistakes? Heck, who here bought a car where the your rep didn't even know how to pop the fuel lid?
Who cares about the fluff...it is a standard business practice.

Anything for a competitive edge. I love the fact that they're pointing out that this car doesn't have an automatic, traction control and other things when all that will do is make it slower and heavier. Real enthusiasts buy this car because they're a special breed and don't need all that other crap. The 350Z in my opinion while still a decent car is just marketed to the masses. For example, take a look at the multiple versions they offer. It's the shotgun approach. That's not a bad thing because it offers variety but again, it's marketed to the masses. The S2000 is special because it's so unique, compact and reasonably priced for such a defined roadster/sports car role. The S2000 makes no bones about what it is and neither do the owners who prove that point by buying it. So neener neener neener, (thumbing nose at Nissan).
Within my family, we've owned Honda/Acura, Toyota, Nissan, Peugot, Chevy, Renault and Ford. Of all those cars, without a doubt, the Honda & Acura have always been the best! Everything else is good enough for the masses, the point A to B people. It's good that Nissan is coming out with the 350Z as it just adds flavor to the current boring market. Aside from that, I'm off to enjoy my S2000!
