Thank YOU

I think what I was hoping to see is a dyno graph on the DC header on the ap1 to see if you LOSE any power, which is what I obviously don't want.

As for boost, I dont think i've stepped over that line. There is a lot involved a lot of which i dont have experience with....YET!!!!!

I think I saw I dyno in the under the hood forum on the DC header (I dont know for sure). I treid looking, but could not locate it. There is a header comparison thread in the JDM section (under the wheel and tire forum) and there was a few dynos in that thread and lots of discussion on what works and what doesn't.

The only reason I suggested boost is it seems like you really want the best bang for your buck, with this car boost is your best bet. A Comptech Supercharger at stock boost has been found to make good/reliable HP gains and has a CARB#. It would be better than trying more than one header and wasting lots of $$$ on the same mod .

Header dyno

DC Header dyno

TSX DC header Dyno

Forum notes
( Pay attention to Voodoo_S2K 2002 Intake/DC Header 201.3 138.9 )

This was all I could find on yahoo. I'm still looking. But so far it lookes like a 1-5Hp gain.
No power loses reported with a dyno. Only " I heard " the DC header loses power.

I agree with Never...save your money for something else.

The OEM header is very good. Recall also that most of the headers out there do not come with a heat shield (only the Mugen & Ricks do). That is a big deal since heat soak is a major problem for the s2k.

I have the Toda and honestly...butt dyno could not tell a difference. Real dynos show only about 10whp mid-range and 3-5 whp top. And this is from one of the best headers on the market for the car (probably 2nd only to the J's). Then you have to overcome all the extra heat in the engine bay, which saps hp.

So, in the end, the header becomes just bling unless you are building the engine...a full exhaust (header, test pipe, cat back) can make some decent gains...but to buy stuff that give consistantly proven gains your looking at around $2300. Buy gears instead...should not effect CARB...will run you less than $1500...proven and noticable performance gain.

Yeah I would go with:

Comptech, Rick's, Toda, or Mugen. Don't skimp on parts. As a rule, you get what you pay for.

Oh Don't Worry.........Gears are coming in the future!!!!!!!

As for the Header I think what I am looking for is to find for sure if it actually loses HP anywhere. So far I have not found anything proving a loss. Maybe i will just have to dyno it myself (before and after).

Now for a new question: What can I do to the stock header to cool down engine temps. Maybe paint It with something.
