Default New windshield, does your molding do this?

I just had a new windshield installed, and the molding has a bunch of play in it. I've never spent much time examining the prior molding so I don't recall if it's suppose to do this. But look in the video, on both sides of the pillar for most of the length you can see I can push it down especially at the end of the 12 second clip, look at the molding touching the glass, how it moves. and you can even hear it a bit.

Does this even matter? Am I being overly critical?

The Honda manual, which I didn't check until after the install, states to use an adhesive tape on the molding before attaching to the windshield, something that was not done.

Can a couple of you guys humor me and check your moldings?

I've had a couple windshields installed, and some of the moldings were thicker than others. I think I had one like this.

It's an OEM molding. Can you humor me, and go out and touch your molding on the side to see if you have play in it like I do?

It is a good reason to go out and fondle your car of a minute... Any reason to fondle the car is a good reason...

490 views... can no one go out and fondle their molding for comparison?

...asking for a friend?

I fondled my S, just for you. Firm as I could hope for, no give at all. Text me who you used.

In the manual it states to use an adhesive tape inside the molding before applying to the windshield, which they didn't use, but they did run a bead of the glue on the inside of the windshield along the molding and then the big one along the frame before installing, so I doubt I will have a leak.

However, I'm trying to determine what, if any, issues can arise from having the loose molding like I do? Perhaps more then normal water can find it's way in there?

Any windshield installers here on S2k that can chime in?
