Default New with some questions

Hello everyone, new here and have some questions. Is Honda still in the first generation of s2000's, and do they have plans to release a 2nd generation? I assume if they're still in the 1st generation then the body style hasn't changed? Thank you all.

Some folks consider the change from AP1 to AP2 as a generation change, however, in countries where the 2.0L engine stayed, this might be a tough argument.

Yes, the 2004 model year got tweaks to the front and rear (new bumpers, new tailpipe, wheel size, new head/tail-light clusters). But, I think from most points of view, this is still a "first generation" car. Who knows if there'll even be a next generation...? It took Mazda 9 years before revamping the original Miata, and man they sold a WHOLE lot more of them than Honda has sold S2000s; keep that in mind.

This year (MY2006) does have some significant changes under the hood (drive-by-wire throttle comes to mind), but I'm stickin' with first-gen nomenclature.

BTW, if that's your Prelude... Nice! I had gen-1 ('82) and gen-3('88) Preludes and loved them both.

^ True, but I don't think any interior mods would count as a generational change, would they, Saki? Hey, love your "Speed Racer" signature!

You can derive the answer from Honda itself. When the advertising claims the car is "all-new, totally re-designed", that's when they're on the second gen. This hasn't happened yet.
