S4Miike,
Was it at Herb Chambers? I think they have about 30 Stooks right now. That may be the place to deal.

MN isn't close to MA, but I easily found a new S2k of my color preference for $31,500 with a few little extras. I didn't even have to negotiate...I would suggest anyone in the Midwest offer $31,000 (or maybe $30,500) for the car.

The reason why Herb Chambers still has so many S2000's in stock is because they charge ridiculous prices.
I was at Herb Chambers Burlington Honda last week, they wanted $31k for a used 2000 with 11k miles. A new yellow they had sitting in the showroom that day they wanted $38k.
Some dealers just don't get it....

Clair Honda had one of each color a couple weeks ago when I stopped by...they have always sold at MSRP...don't know if they are willing to go lower now....they havent gone higher.

Thanks for the input guys. I found a place that gave me another $150 off (for a total of $1150), but I'm still far away from the $1500 that Tim S2K's friend got. The $1k was from Commonwealth Honda, the $1150 was from Honda Barn. I'll drop by both Herb Chambers and Cambridge Honda tomorrow and see what they have to say. Thanks again.

I am also in Boston (and this is my first post, although I have been lurking for a few weeks), and I was surprised by the prices locally. Two/three months ago I called the Burlington Honda (I think that's Herb Chambers) and inquired as to the price of the S2000's. There was still snow on the ground, but they wanted full retail price on USED S2K's and full retail price plus $5000.00 for NEW S2K's. Needless to say, they really ticked me off.
It also deflated my enthusiasm for Honda and S2K's in general. I hate price gouging. I am heartened to hear that you have been able to move some prices down somewhat for other dealers.

Good luck, and please let us know what deal you finalize. Perhaps I will copy your lead.

As a follow up, I ended up getting my car through Commonwealth at close to $1200 off. I called Cambridge Honda and they denied they have ever sold an undamaged car at $1500 off, and would not even give $1k on a new S2K.

Good job getting the $1200 off. You did the research and it paid off.
