Default New S2K pricing in Mass - what should I ask for? What have ppl been getting?

Hello Everyone,

I'm in a market for a new S2K and found exactly the one I wanted at a local dealership. After insisting that they didn't discount below MSRP, I got them to give me $1k off, which in my mind is still very little. Am I being over ambitious on this car? What kind of discounts have people been receiving in Massachusetts (Boston area) and at what dealerships? TIA,

Mike

You are lucky if you get MSRP anywhere in this country.....If they gave you a grand off, JUMP ON IT......

Agree...

MSRP ($32,700) is a good target. $1,000 off (assuming no forced, overpriced options) is a very good deal now that Roadster season is in full swing.

1000 off?
That's the first I have heard of.
I hope it's not a lemon.

Car's not a lemon. Brand new, still in factory covers w/ 0 driven miles. That's one of the reasons I want that specific vehicle. No joyriders reving the thing to 9k on a brand new car.

Jump on it!!! That's unheard of to get it below MSRP. I was very lucky and got mine at MSRP. Go for it.

I disagree. The S2000 price can be negotiated and many members have done just that and shared their stories here.

It's all about supply and demand. The supply is going up, demand is steady or declining in my view.

I for one bypassed the initial hysteria and big mark-ups. I knew if I waited I could get one of these on my terms (MSRP at the time). I encourage everyone in the market for this car not to succumb to dealer greed.

I suggest you jump all over that. IMO, a great deal for such a great car!!!!
I paid 3k over MSRP, and I'd do it again , we'll maybe I would shop around first, but for this car, I would pay it. I love the s2k.

Sounds pretty good but why not shoot for a deeper discount.

High priced Herb's ads say he has 30 S2000s in stock (plenty if inventory in the market).

Which dealer are you working with?

If you like, call Commonwealth Honda with your deal and see what they say.

In the past Rhode Island has been very good on discounts (thin economy there) so maybe Majestic Honda will play.

Best of luck

A friend of mine had a quote from Cambridge Honda for $1500 off. I say go for more. I am pretty sure the 1000 will stand firm.

Unless they sell out of their inventory.

Go to the official Honda website and look up nearby dealerships and start calling. I called 24 dealerships to find out who was for real and who was insane.
