Default New Richmond 4.56 gear sets shipping next week

Three years ago, through an exclusive arrangement with Richmond Gear, the leading US manufacturer of professional quality, high performance ring and pinion gear sets, we produced a never-before available rear gear set for the S2000: a 4.57 ratio. That gear set was a far superior product to the 4.44, and 4.77 gear sets previously available. They were stronger, better made. In the past three years, Richmond has produced two runs of the gear sets for us. In the last run, we produced a 4.57-R design, which results in quieter running and the ability to use the stock Honda shims for installation.

A few months ago, we began working with the Richmond engineers to further reduce the noise of gear whirr that the gears tend to produce under throttle. While the gear noise was barely audible with the top down, we wanted to reduce it as much as possible without any compromises in the performance and durability of the gears.

A 4.56 ratio was developed on he advice of Richmond engineers to address this objective, and our new production run, which will is now available for purchase, has been made in the 4.56 ratio.

Like the earlier 4.57, the 4.56 gear ratio is ideal for the S2000, falling in the

The 4.57's are 7:32 (pinion:ring)
What are the number of teeth on the 4.56 set?
Just asking.
Any pictures?

Technically... the 4.56 gears don't offer "the best of both worlds." If they did you would get the acceleration of 4.77 and the highway feeling of 4.44.

The 4.56 gears are "a compromise between 4.44 and 4.77."
