I want to offer major compliments to all on this site, it is MILES above any Boxster or other Porsche site in functionality, completeness and organization. I should know, I lurked for hours on them, and scrutinized every eBay and Autotrader listing out there while looking.
..
Thanks for the compliment to all of us. Nearly all the postings around here are relevant and helpful. And, when just every so often, one of us behaves a bit like the Southern exposure on a Northbound Clydesdale, one of our esteemed Moderators steps in to get things back under control.
And, with apologies for repetition to those who have been here a while, let's remind the newbie to very frequently ..... CHECK HIS OIL LEVEL!!. And don't hit the VTEC till 600 miles!

Appreciate the replies folks. Don't worry, I'm checking my oil! If my encounter with jguerdat in my parking lot this morning is indicative, I've found a great new family!
Re. my Porsche 968. I loved it. It was a '95 and indeed had 236hp and 225ft lbs. It was more tractable (and less costly to maintain) than my fathers '89 944 turbo, which was what caused me to fall in love with Porsches. The time was just right for something new. The S2000 is a quicker handler but in '95 the 968 was considered one of the best handling cars in the world. Mine was a base one w/o the M030 sport-tuned suspension option, so it had more cornering lean but it was still great. Acceleration was about 6.3 0-60 and it was an awesome high speed car. It had Variocam which gave a discernable push after 4250rpm - but only up to the 6800 redline. Steering was not as quick as the S2K.
Enough of that though - time to move on into VTech!

Emilio

I don't put snow tires on so I don't drive when there's a real threat of snow. Others of us in the Upstate NY group do run in the snow, apparently rather nicely.
Wassamatter, don't want to see that aluminum hood rust?
