New owner.. getting in and out of car scuffs door panel.. happens to you guys?
Everytime I get in and out of the car in a tight spot, I seem to kick the door panel or the door sill. Does this happen to anyone else? I dont want to ruin my door sills or door panels, I just got the car on the 4th of july and I am taking care of her like its my own baby. Any tips or tricks on how to take care of this car? Do I need any special fluids or anything of that sort or any irregular tune ups? I just bought some 303 stuff to protect the top, but is our cars vinyl or cloth? Seems like its cloth but I heard vinyl?? Thanks for your time.

As far as the door sills are concerned, I just got some of those door sill protectors from one of our sponsors. The door panels, well, you just have to be careful and try to park where you can open the door all the way to prevent that from happening.
Read your manual for maintenence and other instructions. Our top is vinyl. Check out www.properautocare.com for other products.

I constantly kick the door panels and tend to rub the sills as well on entry/exit, Speed. Not sure there's any way around it.

I also notice that I scuff the exterior getting in because the car is so low. Would never have picked up on it only that I noticed when it was dirty and I wiped the dirt.

I wear shoes that won't leave scuff marks. Sperry Topsiders have a gum sole and the bottom of the shoe is thin enough to give great pedal feel too! Any shoe with a gum sloe will work, I've even seen some high $$ driving shoes with gum soles.

I don't see how a gum sole wouldn't pick up dirt and scuff the door sill.
As far a 303, check out www.properautocare.com for that. Or, you might be able to find it a a local marine or auto store.
