Default New Mustang GT.... competition for the S2k?

Here is the new mustang. IMO, ugly as sin, and they should have kept it looking the way it is now. However, it's got some power increase.

So, though the stang isn't a roadster, I wonder what kind of competition this will bring for our cars since the F-bodies are no longer made. I also wonder if the power increase will be enough to be faster than the S2k in straight line.

I don't know if the GT will have enough power to take on the S2000(I'm sure it will though), but what I plan on getting definitely will.. 05 SVT Cobra..

(yes I'm going to keep the S2000 I have)

I'm not sure I like the way that car looks. Kind of like a box or something. I was looking foward to the new Mustang, maybe getting rid of my S2K and getting a convertiable Cobra in four years or so. I'll have to wait and see one in person, but the photos don't look that great.

I bought my S2K to satify me while the new Mustangs and Vettes get put together. Hopefully an new S2K comes out and I'll just upgrade mine .

As far as speed, my next car will have to be 0-60 in under 5 seconds, or I'll stick with my current car. Since I live in Florida, we have no curves, so straight line is the only thing going on here . I got the S2K not for it's speed, but it's looks, being rare (kind of), and a cool roadster. I don't care if one car is faster than another right now, but will in four years when I'm looking for something new!

I'm betting that the weight (especially for the convert) will be even more than the Z350. Based on what the Z seems to be able to do in comparison with our S, looks like the heavier Stang won't be faster than the S.

Some company did a kit car EXACTLY like that one a few years back...I think someone on that site got their pics messed up...In my opinion, that pics looks like the Mustangs from the mid 70's...

From the sides it also looks to have the same kind of lines as the new T-Bird...But, it still looks pretty ugly nonetheless...

No, the pictures are right. In fact, look at the back 1/4 panel in front of the rear wheels. It has the same flare/fender the current GT has.

Let us all remind ourselves that the S2K is not a drag vehicle. I guess Hollywood portrays it that way though. Same as in life, there are twists and turns! Mustangs will always be Mustangs.
