Muz, I'm pretty sure our case is real leather NOT a fake look-alike. The reason it does not smell like leather is because the leather smell is not appreciated by Japanese (it is considered offensive to many) and they have a special process for removing the smell - I'm serious here.

The caseis one of the few things that us Aussies actually seem to get a reasonably good deal on when buying our Stooks. I keep mine sealed in two plastic bags (in order not to scratch it) in the boot (trunk for NAers) undefloor compartment with the jack etc..

I think our case woulld make an ideal template for whatever Rick is planning.

Hmmm... if you take out the business cards and look at the back of the inside piece of the pocket it looks kind of like flannel or felt. This is what made me think it might not be real leather. It would be nice to find out.

So..do you do think it's Roo leather?

Muz,

Do they still make articles from Kangeroo leather? I used to have some baseball spikes made from kangeroo leather and it it is supposed to be more supple than cow leather.

Mebbe, I checked it out again and had a sniff - I can certainly smell animal in there if I breathe deep enough. I have a sneaking suspicion that the case is some sort of hybrid material and yeah, could well be 'roo.

Speaking of which, my motorcycle leathers are 'roo. Nice and soft too.

This would be a great idea at my dealership if they kept the same personnel for more than two weeks at a time.

"Next week" has stretched into next month. The manufacturer we were planning to use (a small company doing mostly hand work)is too busy to even do the prototype, so we're looking for another source.

Rick,

I am very interested in this... are you going to design something similar to what Muz is showing with a zipper? I think this design would be great.

Muz - is it possible to order these from your dealer in Oz? Maybe we could do a group buy or something?

I'd love to have an Oz pouch.
