New key/remote fob.
Hey guys,
So last nite, i lost my 2nd set of keys and wireless key fob. All i got left now is my valet key. From my understanding, i need to now:
1. Buy a new remote and program it, which i can do it myself pretty easily.
2. Buy a blank key and send in my registration, VIN (since there are no other keys for them to copy from), etc and get it programmed as well.
How much am i looking at? HandA sells a brand new wireless key fob for like 60 bucks which is actually pretty good and street keys sells the authentic s2000 blank (07) for 50 bucks plus the no-key left feature which i have to buy so they can shadow my key according to my VIN, which costs another 50, and im assuming i gotta get this programmed somewhere after which i don't know how much it will cost. Am i on the right track here or can you guys add some info and steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the post, which reminds me that I'm down to my last key (and no fob). The local dealer quoted me $60 for a fob, $100 ( I think) for a key, plus probably another hundred to cut and program.
I think I'm going to do what you're doing.

None, that's what I paid. I guess dealers charge what they want. He programmed it in the back, then used the VIN cutting jig right in front of me. 5 minutes tops.

Since I installed the Honda alarm which comes with two new fobs, I have the two original fobs left. I can sell them to you if you are interested - just PM me for details. They are almost brand new and work perfectly - I simply don't need them anymore.
