Hello all. I am new to this web page but am loving it. I have a question for any of ya'll. I am interested in getting a 2004 S2000. I love the car but am 6'2" tall and weigh about 200 pounds. Can I fit in one of the new ones comfortably? I have owned a '72 911S, 1959 TR3, and a '84 RX7. Have had no problem getting in and out of any of them but have heard that the S2000 is a little more cramped. Also does anyone have any proof that cold air injection really works???
Thanks,
ED

best way to find out is to sit in one yourself.

No question that the S2000's interior is a tight fit. Think Formula 1 (though definitely not that extreme ).

You really do need to see for yourself.

FYI, some folks have modded the pre-'04 seats to lower them and gain some leg/headroom. It's possible to do that.

First of all, I agree that you should try one out first. If you are long legged, it might be uncomfortable. I'm only 2" shorter than you and I love how it fits me like a glove. I like the tight fit.
Secondly, from many of the posts I've read hear, I'd say to save your money and keep the stock air intake. Honda did a great job of getting the most out of this engine without going to a supercharger or turbo. The gains that are made with a CAI are minimal and not really worth the effort or expense.

Ah, but the sound Dario, the sound!!!

Agreed, CAI is primarily a superfluous mod, but an aural delight! (if you go for that sort of thing)

eperk:

I'm only 5'11" but I am wide at 215lbs. I fit fine, and could move the seat back further. also have a 993, and there is more room there, for sure, but the S2000 is adequate for me for drivesw up to 2 hours or so. 5 hours might be a little on the tight side...

I'm 6'1" and almost 200 pounds and fit quite well in the S2000. The only problems I've had are seeing traffic lights through the windshield when they're close and up kind of high, and the seatbelt digs into my shoulder after driving the car for several days straight.

Search for some of the posts about hydrolock and sucking up water into cold air induction before deciding on the modification. There have been too many problems for me to consider such a modification.

Thanks, I am reading up on CAI. Also have looked at the electric supercharger concept. Looks pretty inexpensive but can't imagine why you could get only 1-3 psi boost. I thought from an electric DC motor you could do better

Heh, read this before buying an electric supercharger.
