When I clicked on the thread title, I was wondering what a thread about the PS3 (or Wii) was doing in S2000 talk!

 

as soon as I can afford it I am upgrading to AP2. Looks, materials, that tray type lip up front = the sex IMHO

I HATE THE CARPET CONSOLE I CURRENTLY HAVE!!!!!!

I will search for a better deal than retail because it is rather expensive. e-bay and junk yards are your friend in most cases. My friend found his AP2 for 100.00 on ebay. Deals can be found with some effort.

 

you can buy a leather cover for the carpet console. looks great.

Personally I prefer the Ap1 console (carpet aside). the silver looks a little cheap .

 

IMO, the AP1 console with leather carpet cover is > AP2 console. Thats just me, they both look good though. As said earlier, the AP2 console @ $350+ is just not worth it versus the alternatives.

The AP2 console was one of the best purchase I have made for my car.

It hides the carpet very well.

The cup holder is much more useful.

You can put a cellphone or wallet in the middle without it being visible.

It updates the cars interior in a manner I prefer.

The shift boot is leather, again a nice upgrade

If you get one used you will get your money back with no problem should you decide to sell it.

 

The AP2 console is definitely the best interior upgrade you can do for this car, but it is overpriced. I got mine from someone on the board for $250 and I wouldn't pay any more than that.

 

I just swapped out my console (from an 02) for one from an 04 and absloutely love it. Bought one on ebay from a dude in Greece for approx $330 including intl shipping (also sold AP1 console for $96 including shipping - net $244) The installation took 10 minutes and there were no tools involved (which now that I think about it, why is this post in under the hood?)

Anyways -
1) the cupholder space is nearly twice as large, which is handy for whatever
2) in the open position the AP1 cupholder lid sticks up into your forearm (which doesn't hurt but makes you wonder if the design engineer at honda is still there) AP2 doesn't have any issues in open position.
3) But for me, IMO it makes the car feel like a nicer car every time you step into it - which for me is often b/c my s is my daily driver.

I thought about upgrading to the AP2 console, but I have a CF dash/interior trim kit and so the AP2 wouldnt match.I do think the carpet is rather cheesy so I got a CF piece that covers up the carpet. I havent installed it yet though,anyone local wanna help me? thanks-

 

Would junk yards sell them for cheaper?
