New BMW SUV has HIDs like ours! Blindness...
Wow,
I was just blinded so badly by the new BMW(I'm 75% sure it was the BMW may have been some other high end SUV) SUV that was behind me. HIDs have been very controversial and I must agree they are VERY bright lights that other drivers find annoying.
I get flashed at least once a night usually by people annoyed with my "brights" being on, and it also has the effect of getting people out of my way when I come up behind them presumably because they either think I'm a cop of some sort of because the brightness just annoys them that much.
Now that is all fine and good and a car low to the ground like the S2K, but to put these same projector lamps on an SUV? Ouch...
Imagine those HIDs being aimed at SUV height into the rear view mirror of every car on the road and you can imagine the blindness people will suffer. I'm quite sure these lights may be banned soon if they start installing them on SUVs now. Big mistake.

i think the fact that HID on SUV is so high off the ground just make it even worse ...
i think the HIDs on BMW 3-series, 5-series, or Acura TL, CL are ok, you will notice them from the rear view mirror that they are brighter than others, but they don't blind you like just helogan light on SUV or truck does ...

I think there are some measures that congress is looking at to lower the height of the lights in SUVs and trucks. HIDs in an SUV are a nightmare to people like us that are in low profile cars. Even regular trucks and SUVs blind me.
