My new Motor Trend came and it had pictures of a convertible 6 series yellow bmw. So I'm sitting at work with me 1/16 sized Maesto S2000 and I'm looking at the 2 and ... well... I don

I wouldn't count on the 6 ending up looking as it is drawn (I don't have the newest MT, so not sure exactly what you are looking at, but based off the coupe from last issue). An artist would typically take styling cues from current Beemers and combine elements from other similar cars - in this case, sport coupes/convertibles. My expectation for the 6 would be a variation on the 3/5 series with a more aggressive front.

As for the viper 'copying' the S2K, well, that's the way the car biz works. If something is good, copy it with some minor changes, and the new one will be good too. Of course, it's also true that the car companys will copy an ugly design (*cough* GM *cough*), thus we have about 75% of new cars being sold that look like crap. Oh well, makes my beautiful S stick out more

I dont think so, these were prototype drawings. They only showed the rear angle which was identicle to the S2000. I showed the article to about 15 people at work and every single person said they thought it was a drawing of an S2000 (note, I also had my maisto model there for them to compare with).

WestSideBilly,

this is just one of the many concept photos for the new 6 series.
i don't think bmw has released any "official" concept photos.
but from rumors, it seems like this one is the most likely.
here's a few more concepts.

Han.

My next car (in addition to my S2K) will be an M6. Period.

The 2 silvers (convertible posted by Han and the coupe) are excellent. The 2 blues are so-so, the red one looks like a softer 850Csi (which isn't all bad). The last picture looks like a botched piece of crap from Cadillac - fingers crossed that it ends up like the silver posted by Han.

I guess I'll have to start saving for an M6 ($100K+ I would imagine).
