I finally received word back from Bilstein. They have referred me to a regional office, which I will contact today. But they did tell me that the coilovers are net yet in prodcution. So we'll have a bit of a wait.

I'll post more later today after I talk to the regional rep.

 

I spoke to an authoritative Bilstein rep today. Here's the scoop.

The PSS9's have not yet been produced for the S2000 and are not yet available for our car anywhere in the world, including Germany. The issue for Bilstein is that the S2000 market is very small and they need to have some assurances about demand before they invest in producing these. The Bilstein rep told me it was very didfficult for them to collect information about possible S2000 market demand, but if we could give them some assurances about the number of orders we might place through our GB, it would help persuade the company to produce them.

At the very best, if Bilstein decides to go ahead with production, it would be 6 months before the PSS9s would be in our hands. Several sets have to come to the US first for testing on S2000s by the Bilstein engineering staff. That takes a few months. Production takes a few more. But given that this system appears to be an exceptional value -- basically half the cost of comparable coilover systems, I think it's worth pursuing.

Here's what I propose to do: I will start a new thread to try to gauge serious interest in a possible group buy and to answer technical questions. My contact at Bilstein has much technical knowledge and said he would be happy to answer any questions about the system.

I'll get the new thread going this weekend.

Make sure PSS9 getts stiffer springs than PSS, PSS are to soft.

 

As has been stated, the PSS9 kit is not available in the US for the S2000. Through all the information I have recieved, there are not currently plans to make the PSS9 kit for the US market. The PSS kit, which is basically the same as the PSS9 with non-adjustable shocks, is currently available for $899 for the set of 4 shocks and springs. The PSS9 kit is not listed and not available through our website.

The PSS kit is a fully ride height adjustable coil over kit. Technically, any McPherson strut car is a coil over, however usually the ride height adjustability is what is intended by the term "coil over". In fact, the rear of the BMW PSS and PSS9 kits are technically not coil overs, but they are fully ride height adjustable, the rear spring mount adjusters are included in the kit. The springs for the PSS and PSS9 kits in most cases have a 60mm ID, which is the standard size in Europe, and a very large variety of springs are available through sources other than Bilstein that will work with the PSS kit

These coilovers are not being made for S2000s and won't for several months if ever.

 

Couldnt have said it better. I had the PSS kit on my GTi, it rode like mush. I then upgraded to H&Rs, huge improvement over the PSS kit.

sorry but the US Bilstein guy don't know what he is talking about. I just order mine and the delivery is end of February. Bilstein has already many orders for the S2000 and they told me that the go for "first order first serve"
