New area of top wearing

New area of top wearing
A long time back when all the threads were started about the typical spots on the s2k top that develop wear, at the advice of some of the posters I went to a local convertible top shop and got patches put over those spots as a prevenative measure. This is by the top latches and by the elbows on the sides.
However, I noticed today I'm getting some wear on the areas where the Modifry conervertible straps go. I do have the modifry straps, I don't know if they are contributing or what, but it looks like its wearing there on both sides? I only took pics on one side, but its the same on both. It's kind of white and shiney. I used a flash to make it look a little worse than it is so you can see it better.
Anyone else have these spots? Does anyone think if it rubs long enough it would actually make a hole? If I could I would go back to that convertible top shop for another preventative patch, but they closed up shop. I'm thinking of trying to find a similiar material online I can order and just glue it.
Here is a more close-up shot so you can see where I mean.
For what its worth, top is about 1.5 years old. OEM top from HTG. Had to replace it when I got seats stolen (before the alarm and all the security stuff . . . )
Thanks in advance for any replies, invaluable help like this makes s2ki worth the annual membership

I had wear spots same as in your picture. By the time I found the wear spots they were getting thin. Luckily I was just out of warranty and the Honda Service Manager covered a new top under warranty (one time good faith repair). When the shop replaced the top they put in thicker straps and I covered the straps with a softer foam material to prevent the wear from happening again.

Hmm . . . I'm not sure the best way to handle it then. You think I should consider covering the straps with the softer foam material then? I already have the thicker Modifry straps. What did you use to cover the straps? If you ordered it online can you provide a link?
Thanks

Well with your car being so new, you can probably get warranty to cover it. What I'm wondering is, does this ever get bad enough to rub right through? I mean I've seen some high mileage early MY s2000's and they have some bad wearing on the top, but still no hole. Just curious if I should continue to put preventative patches around my top? Sooner or later I'm going to have half the top with prevtative patches, lol.
