OMG! I got the LAST setr of 4.44 and now this happens! DAMN! Well, I am happy with the 4.44..pleanty of kick, but am considering upgrading to the 4.56.
Rai, you could do what I did, and drop the car off at Ganley Honda. I drove from VA Beach, dropped the car off and flew to go pick it up. The drive there and back was really nice. Sounds crazy, I know, but it was worth it to have somebody I trust doing the job.

coming from a jeep back ground, where gear changes are done quite frequently, I miss the reasoning why 1 gear and pinion set is $600. when normally a top quality gear set is $200.....because they can?

Becuase the production volume is so low, and there are very few ecnonomies of scale in the manufacturing. Jeeps are a huge market. The S2000 market is tiny in comparison. If we could sell 1,000 gear sets, the price would be a fraction of what it is. But over a five-year period, we won't get close to that number. As it is, we already trimmed $500 off the price. Remember, gear sets were selling for about $1,000 before we got involved.
But if we can find a way to lower the price, we will. This time, we decided to proide higher quality and durability at the same price. In other words, greater value.

Yes. Antrim Way Honda, sponsor of Fall Colors, in Greencastle, Maryland, near Hagerstown, can do this job. They'll be doing a clinic install of a 4.44 at Fall Colors and are gearing up to serve demand in the region once the 4.56s are out.
