Thumbs up New 2006 Civic Si more advanced than S2k?

I know a CIVIC is a CIVIC and all but i'm curious. Since this new Civic Si will include 200hp & all the latest modern marvels, will it be more advanced than our s2k's? The s2k is a well built car no doubt, but i've heard from some people at meets that it feels "out dated" and what not.

Well you could say any new Honda or Acura is more "advanced" than our car because it is. We have a simple sports car, nothing too fancy about it. Their cars might be more "advanced" but ours is better engineered.

S2000 was released in 1999 as a 2000MY car. The new Civic would be coming out in 2005 as a 2006MY car. In those 6 years the S2000 has been essentially unchanged. So, why are you surprised that a car has been made with better technology 6 years later?

As great a car as it no doubt will be I don't think the new Civic would have a 9000 rpm redline, an x-bone frame, 50/50 weight balance or a gearbox of the calibre of the S2000 to name but a few.

The S2000 is a traditional, classic 2 seat sportscar. It will never be "outdated" - Just like an MG-TC will never be outdated, just like an Austin Healy Sprite will never be outdated...

If the Civic SI comes 200hp then do you think with bolt-on's it could start giving the N/A S a run for it's money?

No more than the current RSX Type S does.
