Perhaps the issue here is a lack of awareness of multiple definitions of the word cute.

You may be thinking the person complimenting your car is using definition 1a when she is actually using 1b.
Or maybe you are feigning offense at the use of the word and just exhibiting an example of definition 3.

I keed. I did not get the sense you were going to snap or were insecure. I think most guys do not think of the term "cute" in the sexy sense.

It's ok with me. The fact that my wife thought it was cute was the reason that I was able to get the S2000 through "the finance committee" as a weekend driver in the first place. She never calls the M cute.
