Changing the springs only compromises the performance of OEM shocks. OEM shocks are not designed to be used with lowering springs. Dampening and rebound rates are crap not to mention the shortening of their lifespan. Try it, you will quickly realize that you will need to change those struts. I speak from experience and for others who have done the same.

A good setup would be H&R springs with Koni Red or Yellows. But then you might as well pay a little bit more for a set of Buddy Club Coil-overs.

Good luck
Thanks for all your advice.

You would pick some Buddy Club over something like KW Variant 3s?

With a car as well set up from the factory as the S2k, you should really get a matched set of springs and shocks. The combination of a spring and shock works as a simple control system. The spring is (ironically) actually the part that absorbs the shock from hitting a bump, and the "shock absorber" (should really be referred to as a dampener) dampens oscillations in the spring. If your spring is shorter and/or stiffer than the shock is intended to be used with, the system becomes underdamped the the shock will no longer do a good job of absorbing oscillations. You'll get a very rough, jarring ride that's quite bouncy, and the system as a whole will be less stable.

I would recommend you either get a matched set of springs/shocks (coilovers) or stay with the OEM setup.

Biggest thing for me and coilovers is not know how/when to adjust them. I have some KW Variant 2s on my Civic and I haven't touched the settings since they were installed (about 4 months ago).

Not sure if someone said this yet, but changing springs takes you out of A-Stock... You can change your shocks though

Youll be much happy with some coilovers... V3!

Yes, I realize that now, and that is the last thing I want to do. I want to stay in AS for as long as possible.
