Need your honest opinion on painted calipers...
Hi everyone,
It took me 5 long hours...from setting up the car on the axle stands to getting the calipers painted, w/ multiple layers of red.
What a pain in the butt
While I was checking out the newly painted calipers on the car, it hit me big... ' Is that too ricey?'
Now I have a Suzuka Blue with RED calipers.
Do y'all think it's nice or rice?
My intention was pure...to make the car look nicer, like the porsches
Your honest opinions on painting calipers please
and the paint I used was Foliatec brake lacquer kit.

No, painted calipers is not ricey. If you had painted your wheels red, well, then we'd have a something to talk about. Go with Rick's powdercoated calipers for the best look once the painted ones fade.

I think red calipers look great. I plan on painting mine red sometime. If I had a blue car I might have went with a blue to match the interior though. It should look good either way though.

Pierre,
I agree with you to a certain extent. The first day I got'em painted, I was in serous doubt. It looked kinda ricey, and since I'm a OEM guy, none of these fake stuff really appealed to me.
However, you get used to it. It grows on ya. (not that I can undo it now...) It accentuates the car with more sporty look.
Of course, wouldn't it be nice if I could afford a brake upgrade from brembo, spoon, etc.
I will take pics tonite and post

I really don't think the bright colors coordinate that well, and the paint can eventually be cooked off at the track. After trying paint I tore down my calipers, ground off the casting marks, and had them cad plated. It was way too much work, but I like the look.

I am not fond of painted calipers. When you look at the S2000 your eyes should be drawn to the lines of the car and not a hunk of painted metal playing peek-a-boo through the wheels.

Clear the fronts or loose the sides......then decide on any color but red for the calipers. It's not a Porsche! Spoon calipers are blue........one step above Red BUFFUGLY....both.....listen to CD. If you add some red leather seats then may Ronald McDonald or someone from his half way houses might be interested .
