83 in a 35 is high.. in ny you can't just pay it anymore.. you have to show up.. most of the time you will talk with the officer that gave you the ticket, he will tell you to take a defensive driving course and reduce the ticket on those terms but you may still have to pay the fine of a 83 in 35..

i dont kno if itll work where yr from but i got pulled over for doin 90 in a 55 zone. i went to court and the judge took it off my insurance record and lowered the ticket. he said it only works if its yr first speeding ticket (it was) and if you werent goin over by 40 mph...dunno if that helps at all but its all i got lol

Well if you're lucky you might get the fine reduced when you show up to court. Every time I've gone to court over a speeding ticket, I have had the fine reduced by 50% just for being there (I didn't try to contest the tickets or anything, just showed up to court and stood up when the judge called my name). 83 in a 35 is just crazy though (living up to your S2Ki screenname I see hehe), so you may be screwed.

yeah might as well go a test your luck to see if you can get the ticket reduced. if i remember correctly, they charge a certain amount per mph you are over the speed limit. good luck with it.

get a lawyer I'm pretty sure you can lose your liscense if you're going over double the posted speed limit

The last ticket I got was for 74 in a 50. I took it to my lawyer, she said she would see what she could do. The ticket as it originally stood would have given me 2 insurance points, massive raise in insurance premiums. When it was all said and done the ticket was too great to get moved to an improper equipment, but they reduced it to a 59 in a 50, a 1 pointer ticket. I learned 2 lessons in this instance...1. don't run late and I won't speed to work, and 2. don't speed over 15+ in NC if you hope to get it dropped.
There are also a couple of other advantages to getting a lawyer to take care of it. In my case I did not have to show up to court and wast a half a day of my time (it takes a long time when they go a-z and you last name starts with T). And the lawyer will generally be able to get more done for you than you could yourself.
One more thing I have found that comes in handy is pre-paid legal insurance. It only cost around $15-25 a month, some company's have it as a benefit, and it will pick up the tab for lawyers fees to handle such things as traffic tickets. They will also find and hire you a lawyer to handle each case. All I had to do was send the lawyer my ticket and pay the fine in the end. It also will cover lawyers fees out of state and county so if you get a ticket in say NC and you live in SC you can still get the ticket dropped without having to travel to show up for court. The legal insurance has helped me get out of 2 tickets in the past 2 years, and they will also pick up the tab for accident disputes.

thankx for the info guys, I have came to the conclusion that yeah Im definatly screwed in this one. Im just hopeing not to get my license suspended. Sideways I live in NC pretty harsh state, but I knew this before hand so it was my fault
