Default Need some advice on how to approach speeding ticket

Ok my past: Im 18 turning 19 in 2 months, got in 2 minor accidents with my previous car, been driving the S2K for a year with no accidents, and the only ticket I got was a careless driving for spinning my tires when I first got the car on a wet nite .

Last nite, I got pulled for doing 80+ (yes, that is what he wrote on the ticket) for speeding by an unmarked car (he was pacing me) in a 65. Gived my past, I really cannot afford a 4 point ticket . What should I do here? Given a previous ticket is it going to be that hard to get this knocked down or even thrown out even with a lawyer.

Thanks

The only advice I can give you is to go and see the judge, they will ususally lessen the damage if you take the time to appear in court and talk to him. Don't make any excuses, just tell him you were speeding, and that you are sorry, and will never do it again .

P.S. Don't feel bad about 80 in a 65 that's not too bad. I got a ticket for 106 in a 65 in my Celica and had to go in and talk to the judge, but I didn't have any tickets on my record, so he reduced the fine from $500 to $250. You should have heard the other people in the court room when he said how fast I was going Good luck and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I feel your pain man. I just got a ticket the other day (second one in 2 years in S2000) for 82 in a 55. I was respectful to the policewoman, so she left off the part about it being in a construction zone (doubles the fine here in Texas). I am not sure whether I will take it to a lawyer or do deferred adjudication myself. It depends on which one is cheaper.

Get a good lawyer and pay the man and he will get you out of it. You will have to go get your speed checked but if it is one mph off and 99.9% of cars are. You can get off with improper equipment. I have had over 20 speeding tickets in my life. None in the last 4 years but damn the law loved me in my mustang. Try not to let the lawyer use your PfJ because if you get a 2nd ticket within 2 years they both go on you. I have a feeling you will be getting a 2nd ticket befor 2 years are up J/K
