Need opinions.....
The dealership I'm buying my 2002 S2000 from warranties the engine and drivetrain for as long as you own the car. All scheduled maintenance has to be done by them and you can't modify the engine in any way. The salesman is a good friend of mine and his brother is the manager.
Racing/Auto X does not void the warranty and my current car is 8 years old.
Good deal?

It all depends upon you.
If you have no intention of tweaking the engine then this sounds like a great deal!!!
If you want to make engine mods then this is not the deal for you.
I would suggest you get all this in writing and really ask a lot of questions about what non-engine mods can you make if you intend to make any.
Good luck and remember - get the car for MSRP!
I'm going with an extended warranty because I have read too many stories of a big problem at say 37,000 miles, and the 7/7500 extended warranty at my dealer was priced at about $950. At another local dealer they wanted $1,450 for the same 7/75,000. AND if you intend to keep the car a while the deal really becomes sweat!

Thanks Triple-H!
I am getting the car for MSRP
I plan to keep it for 8 years or longer and the only mods I'm planning are the x-brace and cross-over brace.

pretty good warranty if their service department is any good-
you might want to post the name of the dealer to see if anyone has any bad experiences (or maybe even any good experiences) to report.
if you are going to be stuck with one dealer, you want to make sure it is a good one!

If you can get it for MSRP and they're going to warranty the engine and drivetrain till you sell it, that's a great deal. Especially if you're not going to mod the engine anyway.
