when the car is in first gear @ around 3000~4000RPM, if I lift off the throttle the car jerks, is that normal or has anyone experienced this?
thanks in advance for your input
I bought mine used also. I bought them with 24M. When I lift off off the throttle I hear clanking sound or something rattling in the frontal part of the tranny...Is it normally for s2000's clutch to shedder when the throttle is cut off? pls help.

I think your car is exhibiting the well documented and "infamous" clutch buzz/rattle. It is caused when you decelerate from about 4000 rpm to 2000 rpm, where a resonance vibration causes the clutch springs to produce a noise. Depending on the year of your car, there may be a TSB (technical service bulletin) out on it. You can go to your dealer and if you can demonstrate this buzz, they will replace your clutch disc and other related components under warranty. You will find the TSB documented in the "library".
The clutch rattle is only noise and has no negative impact on the mechanical functioning of the car. If you are bugged by it, take it to your dealer and get them to do the TSB. Many who have done this, however, have noted that the buzz returns some time after. I have a MY'00 and it has had this buzz since day 1. I've chosen not to get the TSB done as yet. It doesn't bother me but I may use it as an excuse to get a new clutch. The choice is yours.
