My passenger side headlight assembly got pushed in about an inch after suddenly meeting the rear bumper of a pickup truck. I have tried to push it back into place, but have not been able to do so. The assembly has very limited access from the back - not enough room to give it a hard shove forward.

I guess I have to remove the bumper to fix it from the front, but am not sure. Does anyone know how to procede?

Thanks in advance,

Sorry to hear about your mishap.
I am afraid it's going to be more complicated than pushing the headlight back into place.

Even if you did the light beam will, more than likely, not be properly align/aim at the right angle.

You probably have to take it to your dealer to replace all the (bend) hinges that hold the headlight in place. Worst case scenario, you might have to replace the whole housing.

Not sure if this helps, but I tried.

Ben and Jim,

It doesn't seem that anything is really broken - I think the whole housing is just pushed out of the clips that hold it in place, so, *hopefully* I don't have to replace anything. Jim, you seem to confirm that I have to take at least the bumper and bumper cover off.

Maybe I'll tackle it this weekend if I get snowed in.

Thanks again for the help.

Steven,

I hope this helps man!

The first page is the front bumper removal instructions, the second is the fender well trim removal intructions, the third is headlight removal, and the last two are the headlight aiming procedure (two pages).

Look at them all before you start!

GOOD LUCK!

It's amazing to me that a voltage rectifier that is packaged for a car costs so much. The core electronic component itself doesn't cost more than a few dollars.

Does anyone have the links on how to remove the headlights. my low beam light is broke. It shakes when hit. I would rather see if I am able to fix it rather than replace the whole setup.

thanks,

D
