Default Need help with a few problems with my new car.

Hey guys I just got my car and there are a couple things that are kinda bothering me. First of all when I am on the freeway there is a lot of wind noise coming through the top and if I pull down on the little handle it stops, does this mean that its not sealed right or do they all do that.

Second my cruise controll isnt working I pushed the cruise controll button then I hit set and it didnt do anything anyone know what could cause this. Thanks for your help.

for the cruise control button try holding down the set button for a lil bit before letting go.

for the top people would probably recomend using some shin-etsu grease.

good luck

Also for cruise control, check the connector that runs somewhere along the driver's side fender. Mine was disconnected, so even though my cruise control light came on, nothing happened. It was an easy fix.

The problem with the top can probably be fixed by replacing the striker plates, which tended to wear out pretty fast on the earlier cars. These are the metal plates into which the metal 'hooks' fit when you close the two handles after you put the top up.

Get the hard top stikers. I had the noise and I replaced my soft top strikers with the hard top strikers and Boom!, the problem was fixed and has remained fixed for the last year and a half.

Or just put the top down.

Uh the top is down unless there is a secret to closing it. also is there any way to make it so that you can still move the top without having the parking brake up

Do a search for the top down while moving, i think i saw it somwhere. And for the wind coming in while on the hwy well.....mine did the same thing so i had the dealer tighten the top for me....it still makes a little noise when i'm going kinda fast but it did help a little....Sorry don't know anything about the cruise,I've never used it.

Peace
David

Just to cover first base, are you toggling the cruise control on using the button behind the steering wheel on the dash to the left?
