Hey,
Thanks in advance! While driving hard, when i shift gear theres a cloud of black smoke that comes out of the exhuast.. couple of friends noticed this while i was racing a 300zx tt beat him btw..hehe....well anyways the only mod i have is a berks test pipe...could that be the cause? lmk thanks people!!!

Perfectly normal. All cars will blow out a cloud of black smoke going during WOT.

My Prelude used to spray so much smoke everywhere.. something inside the motor was leaking or something.. yuck.

Black smoke means your engine's running rich. Ever seen a city bus or dump truck blow out black smoke? It's unburnt fuel.. Means your car is running healthy . Let us know when you see white or blue smoke. Then we'll tell you that's bad.

you're running rich and you have no cat.

all non-cat cars do this. not neccessarily a bad thing but i would check the plugs to make sure it's ok.
