I have the AUT cooling plate and it works fine. no cutting was required. just had to pull out the OEM radiator plate which was a little tough with my big hands. other than that it was a breeze. I am also about to buy an FIPK intake to match up with the AUT cooling plate. I did a little research on this combo and a lot of people seem to be happy with it. I also kind of like how the piping on K&N's is black - it matches most of the rest of the engine compartment and is not too flashy IMO which is fine by me.

several vendors from this site claimed the AUT cooling panel was direct bolt-on fitment for all models of s2k, including MY06 and up. no fabrication, cutting, or modding whatsoever, just direct fitment. i was told the AUT panel was a replica of the Garage Design piece, which in turn is also a replica . regardless, i don't really know if they serve a purpose other than bling-bling in the engine compartment. theoretically, they do direct air straight to the intake, but i dunno if gains were actually made.
as for the K&N, i guess it is the best option for MY06+ because it specifically fits for those models, but i haven't seen any dyno plots for it. not too many choices yet for our MY06+'s, the aftermarket seems slow to catch up.
