Default NA guys with comptech flywheel...

It seems that everyone "likes" or "loves" their comptech flywheel but I can't find any posts of someone saying their car (NA not FI) feels faster. I know it makes shifting faster/easier because of less rotational mass but when you are accelerating do you feel it pull any harder/faster than stock?

I actually have a toda flywheel, which when it comes to flywheels is still lighter. I was told it was the lightest but I really have no idea if it is or not.

I deffinitly felt the difference when it was put on. Accelerated faster, nothing like new gears, but it was noticable. What is even more noticable is when you sit next to another S without a flywheel and you both rev to hear how fast your revs drop in comparison. I would say deffinitly do it for the acceleration.

Mine as well do a clutch at the same time cause getting in there to do the job is a pain. Unless you just have like 10k miles then forget what I said.

Thanks for the help. I was planning on installing an ATC pressure plate with a stock clutch. I figured I might as well do the flywheel at the same time.

i have one. really feels great, but i'd hesitate cuz the bang for the buck is not that high considering the labor cost of taking out the tranny. i wish the car came with comptech fly and ACT PP/oem friction. great combo.

Yeah, I know we don't get much from mods unless we go FI. I feel like my clutch is slipping more then it should and I have already done all the other mods we can do (expect a header but I want to keep my stock heat shield). You can check my signature for my mod list and tell me if there is anything you can think of that I could do in relation to acceleration...

I forgot to mention I don't want to go FI and I don't think gears are a good idea on an 04.

gears are a very GOOD idea on a ap2. GET GEARS.

best mod i've done for performance. oem PP feels seriously weak and slippery after using an aftermarket PP.

What gears did you get and how many RPMs are you doing on the highway at 75 MPH. Gosh... your 6th gear must redline at like 130 MPH or something. I already feel like I have to shift every 2 seconds...

Yeah... thats what I am getting at. I think gears would just slow you down because you would have to shift so many times.

I do mean on an AP2 not an AP1 because the gearing is closer on an AP2.

Have you done the AP2 clutch delay mod? Might be your issue if you're experiencing clutch slipping.
