What's so odd about this question? Can you replace the lockset on a AP1 if the transponder will be different from the 04+ lockset & Key?

Haha sorry! I found this topic in the search engine and it's something I've wanted to do but didn't know if I bought and installed it if the car would even start up due to the immobilzer and the different key to ECU issue.

Yes. I have installed the 04 key set in an 02. The trick was getting the new keys immobilizer codes into the ECU. The dealer has to do this. There will be a fee
