I just saw some pictures of the revised Lotus Elise front end, which was redesigned in response to criticisms that it was too wimpy looking. What strikes me is that it has similarities to the MY04 front end redesign, ostensibly done for the same reasons. One finds a large open "mouth", with smaller "smile dimples" on either side. The whole effect looks aggressive and tasteful

Just my 2 cents, but interesting that stylists in Japan (California?) and England came up with a similar solution to the stated objective.

IMO, I don't see any resemblance between the two cars other than they're both two seat roadsters.

Also, I far prefer the looks of the original Elise. As to the S2000, I'm inclined toward the original too, but will wait till I see it in the, err, steel.

 

i think your refering to the air intake area which has that new inner section......yeah i can see where youre aiming your simalrities with the elise but thats a very small one...ohh yeah belive me the series 2 elise is way better looking than the mk1.......just my 2pc worth

 

Yeah, exactly. I (thought I) clearly stated I was talking only about the front end design.

 

Well, the Elise has all of the holes functioning as air intakes. The S2000's center hole is the only intake area and the two sides are simply cosmetic. Same as '00 - '03 and the new '04.
