Actually, I seem to have open a new Pandora's Box that has evaded us here until now.
There appear to be issues about this delay valve. I will post in UTH.

As I understand it, it is supposed to delay before engagement, not after - but you have done it and I have not, so I defer to you (and your wife). Nice area up there (Glen Burnie) - too bad it is in the People's Republic of Maryland, site of my last speeding ticket, in 1978 (1 day later i ordered the then new Escort before Mike Valentine formned his own company). I am a staunch V1 man now.

Guys:
Check the post in UTH - there are a lot of BMW* and Hyundai Tiberon* guys dumping the dump valve - on the Bimmers it is easy - the valve is in serious with the banjo connection, so you just yank it, and reattach - on the 2004, it appears to me you would need the new slave cylinder, and a new attaching hose, since the mounting angles are different.
All the 5-series have it, except for the M5 - that should say something.
Now mind you, I am not complaining about bad clutch feel - the issues in URL's I put in the UTH thread talk about clutch feel and wear - now it may be that they are far more drastic - I do not know. But the reading is interesting, so check it out and talk amongs yourselves and post in there.
Mucho Gracias!
*On principle alone, I almost would not want something they have on my little Khan.
