My vision for the next s2000
Ok I was thinking that if Honda were to bring back the s2000 what would I want to see. Here's my list
Design: Classic timeless Roadster styling. Not too edgy or futuristic. The front end of the current is timeless and beautiful.. Not a fan of the back end of the new civic concept. Clean soft top cover when open like the boxster. Coupe version would be interesting as well and would appeal to a broad audience.
Power: High reviving more HP. Yes more low end torque even though I have no issues with my current s2k. No hybrid please.
Transmission: 6 speed for sure. Current transmission is the best part of the car. I would also suggest they make a dual clutch a.k.a VW GTI. It's a great auto manual and would appeal to more customers
Concept: Lightweight and balanced, Minimal drivers car. It's what I love about the current. Open to mid engine
Suspension. Tuned suspension such as existing., red calipers
Price: ideally under $40k
I have no intentions of ever selling MY04 and would like for Honda to bring it back but not in some mutant hybrid format
What would you guys want to see?

Sounds pretty good to me! Technically its already a mid engine car, but you probably mean a rear mid engine layout like an exotic, not Porsche which is a rear engine.
Id really enjoy seeing an inline 6 power plant, there is room for one and a s3000 aka 3 liter N/A should be able to produce upwards of 350hp and mid 200 trq with a similar rev band as the F. I think that would be cool as hell, feel great and sound wonderful. Fat chance though with the trend moving to smaller displacement turbo charged 4's. I fear it will be called a S1000 and sound like a childs toy. There really isn't much else to perfect on the car that our aftermarket doesn't already address. And I love that in a way, however its naterial to want to think of what if...

I'd like a more aggressive body style. Tad more Italian influence. Normal aspiration. True mid-engine layout, inline V6. Tunable suspension.
Have to wait for 75th Year Anniversary model.

How about abilty to pass broomstick test with helmet on? Lower seat height, etc.
The original Mitsubishi Eclipse was a cool car for its day. But each new generation the car lost much of its edge. They sold a lot more of them the more bland the car become. There is a sad lesson here.
There is no incentive to make another S like the old S. Honda only built the previous version as a 50th gift to themselves, and showcase what they could do.
Honda has to decide if they want to make enthusiasts happy, or sell a lot of cars.

mix the 2016 s660 and 2016 nsx and thatll probably be what an S2k successor will look like. and i would wager on it having the civic type R engine but with a electric motor for an aditional 25-75 hp boost.
