Sorry this happened to you man. I'd be heartbroken too with that kind of luck.

It isn't killing me but if ive already bought two motors I mean how can I be sure nothing is to go wrong. It's made me quite skeptical On te f series I
So the first motor was previously forced induction and the next one had a questionable rebuild done and failed... how is this the fault of the design of f-series motors? If you want confidence that the motor is built right, buy a new OEM motor or a low-mileage unopened motor with a warranty. A vast majority of s2k owners never have any major problems with their motor unless they modify it heavily or fail to keep the oil level up to spec. It sucks that you had to spend all of this money on your s2k, but buying used vehicles (and motors) that don't have a warranty is always a gamble because you can never truly know the history of how they were treated.
I've never had low oil or abused the car the second motor was put together he found a used long block and the head and looked over everything and put it together and dropped it in. Not sure exactly how the second motor blew but it did and in a crazy manner I've never seen a valve cut into something.

I bought a F22 out of a '05 S2k, 32K on it 6 month warranty. it was perfect. I drove it like a grandma most days, and when I wanted the power I was able to use it. The first motor yes, a total POS, the 2nd motor was rebuilt. Ia m going to tell you that only a HANDFUL of people in the UNITED STATES can rebuild a F or H motor, they have special cylinder walls, and the spec's are ridiculous. If anyone asks me I will buy a used low mileage or mid mileage motor that has been unopened, and not tampered with any day over rebuilding it. Most shops Ia m sure rebuild V8's and American motors. Their tolerances are much less..

Sorry for all the issues, but it is nice to know your car is solid! All it needs is a motor bud!

I'm not saying that you abused the motor, I'm saying that in most cases where an f series motor fails it is usually due to oil starvation or poor tuning on a modified setup. In your case, the first motor failed due to the previous owner boosting and abusing it and the second motor likely failed due to a questionable rebuild. As onesilvers2k mentioned, there are very few shops that can properly rebuild the f series motor so you are better off buying an untouched used motor than rebuilding.

well save about 6k and buy a brand new engine from the dealer. that way you will know for sure that the motor will be good.

I understand, sometimes having a car that is a money pit can leave a bad taste in your mouth that makes you just want to get rid of the car and move onto something else. If you do decide to move on from the s2k, just make sure the next car has a drivetrain warranty with a good amount of time/mileage left on it or you may end up in the same situation.

That's horrible. Good luck finding a new F20C, unfortunately they're very expensive (for a Honda).

But really, you let yourself down. The engine was most likely wrecked before you touched it. This is why you inspect cars before you buy them.
