Besides Brake Pads, you will find that Tires will affect your braking distance the most. Be sure to check your Brake Fluid Level, as if it is low, your Braking Performance will suffer.
I have found that the best combination for braking is as follows:
1. Sticky Tires (Star Specs, RE01R, etc.)
2. Fluid (ATE Super Blue, Motul, etc.)
3. Brake Pads (Do Not Cheap Out On These) (Project Mu, Carbotech, etc.)
If you feel compelled to, you can also get Stainless Braided Brake Lines. These will improve the feel when braking as they don't give to expansion the way the stock lines do.

I was always under the impression that the s2k does in fact have braided brake lines. The braid is just covered by outside coat of rubber. Can anyone shed some light on this?
