Default My S2000 - 4 years and counting...

Well, I woke up this morning and realised that my car turned 4 years old this week. I did not "adopt it" until Oct of 1999, but the original paperwork from the dealership was signed off and lwnership transferred mid September.

After 4 years of owning this car, I still have no complaints. Ok, so I went through the original learning curve of finding the oil dipstick, locating the secret compartment, figuring out that a windscreen really did make a whole helluva difference etc... It has been a great 4 years not only driving and learning the car, but also meeting incredibly great people online here at S2KI and within my local area Bay Area S2K folks!

My car is still a few miles shy of 40k, which probably would not had happened if I had been in the country more often to drive it, but since I have been living overseas much of this year, it has been a drag on my car. Nonetheless, I am not selling it and do enjoy it on my trips back home. Lucky me, living in the Bay Area allows me to drive it year round.

Any other 4 year owners still have their car and want to contribute?

Mine will be 4 on October 4th. Just turned 80k, many of those miles on the track, and the car still runs like new. I love it and wouldn't consider getting rid of it.

A clock? Heh heh...oh yeah...mine did not come with one did it? I replaced my radio with an 01 radio so I HAVE one now! If it were not for the fact that I have another car, I think my S would have hit 80k or so like Strike too. Mine has shy of a dozen track days on it and everything, last i checked, is pretty much running like new. I had a few warranty coverages done, maybe a few more than the normal car, but given the fact that the car is a lower serial numbered car, I did not complain. Honda actually took care of all my concerns so far, including two replacement clutchs for the TSB 054. Not bad, one clutch for every 13k or so miles.

Yes, four years later I am still extremely happy with drivingthe car and still go for flying drives in the hills when I get a chance. I miss the days when there were only a few of us, but I am happy to see so many people now enjoying the car, despite the ricers who have over-modded their cars with show-but-no-go parts and no driving ability to boot.

Glad to hear DBW that you will be getting more seat time in the "old" car. I take it the doc said ok to top down too? I hope so.

Any other 4 yr old car owners out there?

i hear the s2000 gets better with age, especially the f20c motor itself(its gets stronger and stronger with more miles, like the b18c5/itr).

ill definately keep this car for a while

Congrats on the 4 year anniversary.

Mine just turned 3 years on 08/22/03. It's been tracked, auto-crossed, and is driven 100 miles each workday since I picked it up. I now have 90k and plan on keeping it forever.
