You may need to turn the ringer volume up on the phone.
Made me laugh loud enough to draw attention from co-workers.

When I first got my S2000 I drove it for a while before checking the throttle cable. Once I tightened that up it made a real nice difference. Takes 1 minute to do as well so definitely worth checking it.
Make sure you do not overtighten the throttle cable. It will put stress on the throttle body and stretch the cable itself. Some slack is required for correct operation; I use ~5mm. Some technicians recommend ~0.5 cm .

Yeah. I just made sure it could snap back. As long as it can snap back to closed than it is not too tight and not keeping it opened at all during throttle. If it gets too tight can have your idle all high. Not hard to tell at all when adjusting it.

Yeah or a car that has torque. After driving my high hp eclipse gst for a year or so and then buying an S2000 it felt extremely slow like a civic even in vtec. Got more used to it now, still not very fast but feels much better than at first power wise.
Still miss being able to just punch the throttle at any rpm and take off.
Agreed, I had a 340 whp Evo before the S and it feels alot slower to me.

OK, I see guys. Thanks a lot!!! I will check my throttle cable.

but how have you been commuting in the meantime? that must have had some effect on your perception. obviously if you've been taking a lear jet to work, your perception would have changed so you might not feel vtec as well as you used to.
haha, I've been driving low HP cars while working abroad, so I think that's not it.

Hi guys,

I used to own a MY00. After 3 yrs working abroad, now I own a MY 02 which I just bought not long ago. Still love the car but somehow I feel that my current 02 revs "slower" in vtec, and the vtec kick in is not as strong as my previous S, or as my friend put it "not as intense"...

Some friends told me it's all in my head, I don't know. I think maybe the my current S didn't break in properly? What do you guys think?
If everything is working properly, your newer car actually makes a little more power than your MY00 car, due to improved tuning, but the same tuning improvements also reduce the subjective "kick" as the cam profiles change at 6k. Arguably, the newer car may be subjectively slower, but unless something isn't right, it is actually a tiny bit quicker.

If you want more, get a centrifigual blower.
