As of right now I’m so paranoid I dunno if I can live with another S.
I feel for you man, the reason why I got a HT. I just think that you got to look at this situation and put it behind you and jump right back in and get another S.
Raise above the low life that did this and don't let them haunt you. A lesson we all had to learn after 911, can't live in fear....

sorry to hear, at least u had full coverage, that's good news regardless if it's totalled by the insurance.

on a lighter note, i roll with these in my "S", no problems yet....fingers crossed.

This gave me an idea that I haven't seen posted before in the many "seats stolen" threads. Besides the usual seat locks and good alarm, what about using seat covers? If a thief can't see the condition of the seats, maybe he'll think twice before he even breaks the window or cuts the top. You can use some additional material under the seat cover to disguise the silhouette of the seat so the thief isn't sure its an OEM under that cover. That could really make him think twice about taking your seats. As Ckit said earlier, theft of aftermarket seats seems non existent.

sorry about your loss. I think, if the car is parked outside, a pager alarm is a must.

My car sleeps inside a garage and I still have a pager alarm for when I take it out. Never can be too careful...

update!

The adjuster just came to take a look at the car and gives me some crap about reupholstered seats and how the estimate is going to be roughly 6k...WTF is that normal?

My seats were near mint condition

I just got off the phone with Honda and they gave me the following prices-

2x Seat- $7000
Cluster- $1500
Dash harness- $550
Top w/ out install- $1100

And labor should be another $2000, I’m guessing

What the hell is the adjuster smoking with $6000?

The adjuster is likely assuming used parts.

Yes. You can leave it up to the insurance company and they'll source the appropriate parts, or you can get a payout and pursue everything yourself (used parts)

Be careful with the cluster though. The mileage is NOT stored in the ECU and will display the mileage of the previous car came from if you buy used. Don't accidentally get a high mileage cluster.

They will not pay for brand new parts on your car as the seats that were stolen were far from new in their eyes.

This kind of theft situation is disgraceful. Of course, if these thieves couldn't sell the seats through venues such as eBay, there would be no ready market for them, and no incentive to steal. It bothers me that otherwise honest people will routinely buy from a source which is full of 'hot' merchandise.
