Default My rear tires are at "6/32"

Hi. I have my original tires at 24,500 miles. I asked the Honda tech to check the tires to see if I needed new ones. He told me the fronts are at 7/32 and the rears are at 6/32. He said new ones are at 11/32.

I'm not sure how to decipher this. The tech told me I could go a little longer without getting new tires. But what do the numbers mean. Am I due for new tires?

those numbers are how much tread you have left; you have 7/32 of an inch remaining in the front, and 6/32 of an inch in the rear. you should probably think about changing out your tires when they're down to roughly 3/32. any less and you run a greatly increased risk of hydroplaning, etc.

By the way, to give you an idea of how much wear you have, the fronts orginally when new had 9/32" of tread and the rears had 10/32".
