So... what is the use for that button anyways? Why would you want to disable your passenger window?

I had a similar issue when I was installing my door speakers. I have the drivers door panel on and the passenger panel off. I wanted to test the passenger window for clearance on the back of the speaker.

Using the drivers side controls, the window wouldnt work, despite the switch being in the on position.

I later discovered that the window will not work unless the connectors are engaged on BOTH the passenger and the drivers side.

This is correct. Most cars have it set up so that the passenger power for the window goes through the drivers window master console. I replaced a passenger window motor on my prelude when I didnt need to

actually, I was using the driver's side master console switch for the passenger window (with the passenger side control disconnected) and it still wouldnt work
