the wooshing sound is caused by the thinner walls of the header.
Yes, that's what I suspected. Thanks for the confirmation.

Thanks to you too Amuse boy.

So then is the DC headers crap?...Does it even match up to the Mugen?

I want to answer this for you before someone else gets the going - the DC header is something you throw on your car just to say you have a header. Many people actually think it robs performance. I posted in your other thread saying: "there is a reason the DC header is $250 while everything else is close to $1,000 and up".

If you are not running a FI setup the gains from a header replacement will be minimal, but if you go FI the gains will be very worthwhile

I'm a huge Mugen fan - thanks for the write up Shift

As far as performance goes, the J's Racing header when bolted up with other J's racing mods seems to provide the best overall gains, with dynos showing it makes power in the mid and top end. Mugen makes its power in the mid, with virtually no gain in the top end and slight loss in torque on the top end. Ricks 6 Plus header is designed as a Mugen copy, so the gains it makes are very similar to the Mugen header at half the cost plus it allows you to use all of the OEM heat shields.

Personally from a bang for your buck, I think the Ricks 6 Plus header is the best deal, but if you're trying to go all out NA performance, the J's Racing seems to provide the best gains when combined with all the other J's Racing mods (ie. intake, exhaust, test pipe I think are what the dynos that AJ Racing did)
