Can you not get your parents to sign up for insurance and then have the coverage for any driver of the vehicle? That's what I always did on my cars before I was 25 and saved a ton.

$500 collision and $100 comp for around $60/mo for the S2000...25 years old, 2 other cars on the policy, homeowner, married, uber clean driving record.
They are robbing you, call around to different ins companies
I also did that for years...such a huge pain in the ass, especially out of state, since the registration also has to be in your parent's name. I had the confusing conversation with many a Canadian border agent that although my dad's name is on the registration, I bought and paid for the car. Ugh.

I am 23 with a ticket on my record still and I am only paying about 80 to insure my S. The company is Safeco, haven't had any issues with them yet. I would look into a insurance broker that deals with a bunch of different companies, this way they can make sure they get you the best price.

I am paying 720 every 6 months for full coverage on my S. I am 20 with good student student discount and a clean record, but I am also with my parent's insurance still. Try USAA if you, or anyone from your family has served or retired from the military. I promise you their rates are great!

Thanks for all the feed back, and no, I didn't make this thread to try to see what you guys where paying and I wanted to pay same amount, I was just interested to see if i was going to pay way too much for car insurance for an 04, I do plan on searching on my day off for other prices and see what other people can tell me because 290 + car payment + bills is more than pepboys can pay me . SoREALemjay I will pm you soon to see what you can help me out with. I also cant join into my parents insurance, due to my mother not driving, if i join insurance with my brother, they are only reducing my insurance by 30$, its better than 290 but still not the price range i was looking for.

Uh, "Freeway Ins." is gonna be expensive. No offense, but after all, they are in the business of insuring bad risks, people who haven't had insurance in a long time, or people who just don't' know any better. After all, look at their advertisements.
Try esurance also. My buddies at a body shop said they've been fine to work with.
