Keep the rest of us clutch-burners posted on how it goes with trying to get Honda to fix it under warranty. Good luck.

Good Luck.......I just had a similiar problem. First no slipping....then I take the area manager from AHM for a ride to demostrate the grind.....7.5 K launch....Major slippage. I must say that honda did step up to the plate with me on this one, I'm wondering if it got stuck some how. I remember a thread on sticking clutches. Let us know how it turns out. How many miles?

Good luck getting it replaced under warranty. Honda considers the clutch a wear item and does not normally cover this under warranty, unless you have some very unusual circumstances. 12,700 miles isn't a lot of miles to get a new clutch, but AHM might consider it enough. Keep us updated.

add me to the 1/2 inch club---no, thankfully not that one.
minimal clutch movement is needed to disengage.
discussed this with my honda service rep tonight "haven't
heard of many of these problems."
thanks you guys/gals i am atleast going in prepared
next week.

there is just something about red...

just got off the phone with "service".
"honda is not aware of any significant clutch issues".
"we drove your car and it doesn't seem to be slipping."
they said they will arrange a drive by the regional service rep the next time she is in.

would you continue to drive like you are "driving miss daisy, " or would you do your best to enjoy your s2k?

or, would you go directly to an aftermarket clutch and consider it "a lesson learned?"

Damn!! I got the "wear and tear" deal from my Honda dealership and I've got 28,000 miles on her. They said it would cost me around 2Gs for a new one.
